The 60-acre University High School in Orlando resembles a Spanish village, complete with a central plaza, arcades and small courtyards separating the buildings. Colored stucco and red barrel tile roofs enhance the Mediterranean character of the school. The more than 2,000 students enter the main plaza through a triple arch and most public functions, such as the gym, dining, auditorium and administration offices surround the arcaded plaza. Classrooms spread to the north and are also along the second floor.
